They always wish to have a long way for bike riding. Leh Ladakh is such a gift from nature for thrilling and adventurous long bike riding. Before planning for a bike trip to Leh Ladakh, they should have some informative information and details about the route and should have a clear guidance to avoid critical situations or any other problems. Here is a complete guide for Leh Ladakh bike trip.  


Day 1: Top of the World

First day of reaching Leh, you will have a warm welcome from the beauty of nature. After accommodating in any hotel, have some intake and take a rest for a while, then start visiting the places Shanti Stupa, Leh Market and Leh Palace in the evening. After visiting these places, get back to your hotel to stay overnight.

Day 2: Boundaries of Leh

Start your exciting drive first to the Sham Valley earlier without forgetting your breakfast. Along with that visit the world highest river Indus River in Zanskar, experience the dare deviling war between India and Pakistan  in the hall of fame where you feel goosebumps, and also the magnetic hill. After visiting these places while returning, have some delicious langar in Gurudwara Pathar Sahib. After reaching your hotel, complete your dinner and stay overnight in Leh.

Day 3: World Highest Motorable Road

            Vacate your room early in the morning. After having your breakfast, start your destiny from Leh to Nubra Falls which is a scenic route to the Shyok and Nubra Valley. Ride on through the world’s highest Khardung – la pass motorable road where you can enjoy your bike drive as much as you can. If you feel hungry, go to the Khardungla Cafe and have some snacks. Want to take a break from bike riding, then try a double humped bactrian camel ride in Nubra after descending from Khardung – la where the white sand dunes welcome you. Stay overnight in the Nubra Valley by camping and get warm by the bonfire and sleep under the twinkling stars.

Day 4: Chameleon Lake

            After walking up, have your breakfast, start your bike ride to the Pangong lake which is situated on the border of Indo – China. Along with that, admire yourself with the flawless beauty of River Shyok on one side and mountain ranges on another side. The saline water lakes are the mesmerizing beauty of this place which changes over its colors from blue to red and red to green in time to time. To stay overnight, put a campaign near to the Pangong Lake.

Day 5: Third Highest Motorable Road

            Next morning, open your eyes with the view of Pangong Lake, and start your destiny to the third highest motorable road Chang – la which is a mountain pass that takes you to one of the largest Tibetian Monastery where you can also visit Thiksey Monastery with several Stupas and Status. Get back again to the hotel in Ladakh, have your dinner and take a rest overnight here.

Day 6: Departure

On the sixth day in the morning you will return back to your hometown with a bucket full of unforgettable memories of Leh Ladakh Bike Ride and adventurous experience.


            For a complete bike trip in and around Leh Ladakh, it takes merely six to seven days. People from various states, countries or from any other region will take a longer period to reach Ladakh. They should have the smartness in calculating the timing period to complete their destination in Leh Ladakh. As it is a longer trip, it is best to plan a bike trip during the month of June to September. The climate also supports the bike engine for a smooth problem less bike ride.


            It may be impossible for people who are far away from Ladakh. It is best to rent bikes in Delhi for rental where you can access bikes for riding from Manali to Ladakh. And from there you can start your journey to Leh.


  1. If you are planning a first time bike trip to Leh Ladakh, it is best to take a tour guide and mechanic along with you to avoid any problems while riding.
  2. Royal Enfield Standard or Classic, Royal Enfield Himalayan and KTM are the best bikes for bike trips, that too for Leh Ladakh, these are the most preferred bikes.
  3. Don’t forget  to carry a helmet, riding jacket, cloves, knee pad, boots and some necessary accessories.
  4. The most important thing to consider before starting a bike trip to Leh Ladakh is to have a medical check up. You should have fitness in your health and should carry a medical kit along with you with necessary requirements.
  5. Carry some extra amount along with you for safety if there is any need to purchase which you don’t want to miss.
